A California lady who served poisonous mushrooms to homeowners of an elder-care home has actually been barred for life from working in such centers after four people died, state officials said Thursday. An examination by the California Department of Social Services found that Lilia Tirdea, the home 's caretaker, failed to apply state requirements by serving "foraged mushrooms" to 5 homeowners. Tirdea "constitutes a threat to the health and safety of the clients," the report said. 4 people died, and two fell ill, including Tirdea, after consuming mushroom gravy in very early November, the report said. Detectives formerly described the dish as soup. The report cleared the owner of Gold Age Villa, Raisa Oselsky, who will be enabled to keep her license.
